Some more 1sts

Baby Roman's First day of church!

Baby Roman's first walk!

First Bath

At just a few days old, Roman is featured here getting his first bath. He did not like it one bit. He doesn't cry through the whole experience now so that's nice. :)

Sweet Little Expressions

Here are some cute photo ops from two months ago. I'm quite the slow blogger. All the clothes featured in the following pics are no longer even close to fitting Roman. I need to get on the blogging ball.

Roman is about 2 weeks in this picture. It's almost a smile.

This is definitely not almost a smile. Thought I absolutely love this picture. (I'm not sure a mom is suppose to love a picture of her baby crying).

Big yawn for such a little boy!

September 22, 2008; Roman is Born

Roman Aaron Shideler. 21 inches long and 8lbs 8.8oz

Meet your Daddy Roman! Michael was the first to hold the little guy, he did such a good job taking care of me during and after the delivery.

Meet your mommy Roman! And to think the hospital wouldn't let me take home that smashing smock.

Denver Trip

Denver Zoo action. It was HOT!!!! And I don't mean that in a sexy way, it was sun blistering hot!

The Denver Aquarium. This was a really neat place to go see, and the dinner was delicious!
Clockwise; Me, Mike, Skyler, Denim, Billy and Merv.

Fourth of July!

Mikey sittin by the camp fire in the morning. We went camping for one night up above the ranch in Silt.

Bennet was having way too much fun taking pictures in the truck, we must have taken 15 pictures, having bennet look and laugh at every one after.

Mike and Grandpa Walters getting ready to set forms for the porch at Chris and Jen's "new" pad.

Prego on a tractor helping haul hay. :) Don't let the work fool you, I was having a blast!

2007 Mining Tour!

Seriously forever ago we went to see the Sommerset mines above Paonia. The pictures are way fun.

Above we have Mike, Joey, Me (not pregnant), and 1/2 of Phoebe (not pregnant) We had to take a safety course and learn how to use the respirators in case of a mine emergency.

The tour was absolutely amazing, you wouldn't believe how neat it was to be down there and learn how they mine. We were all so glad that Rick took us.
The above picture has Barry, Mike, Joe, Me and Phoebe in our white garb, and then Rick our guide. For those of you who don't know Rick he is Mike's uncle.

PUPPY DAYS!

Mike and I really do have the sweetest little dogs, here they are in all their glory:

Mikey and Lakita. Lakita is the friendly one. She smiles when she gets excited, it kind of looks like a snarl though. One time we took the dogs up to the Silt Ranch and Phoebe thought she was growling at her... so if you come over to our house and our dog "snarls" at you, no worries, you are on her good side. But, be warned, she has a nack of licking your elbows whenever you don't give her attention. Really annoying!

Dakota and me. She is the bigger and shy one and probably Mike's favorite, and that would be because she doesn't bug you to pet her incessantly.

Mikey on an afternoon walk.

Random Pictures

I've been wanting to post some pictures for some time now. Here are some random pictures that I thought were blog worthy:

April 2008: Mikey in his lounger on his Birthday, he actually got it for his birthday, don't worry he is nice enough to share with me. He always gives me the comfy chair when we lounge in back. What a catch my man is!
April 2008: Earlier on Mike's birthday he had Ryan over to help build our fence. The boys are showing off their day's work. The fence is now done, but this was a great beginning. STUDS! (no pun intended)
August 2008: My girlies had a coed shower for some friends it really was quite fun. But I loved to see me two friends here below. I don't see them too often since I don't work with them anymore.

Aspen - Big Orange Woman - Jessica

I would like to know why they have a pregnant shirt that is this bright orange... and also why I'm wearing such a thing?

Alicia & Kimmie

My best friend Kim and I are both pregnant. She's due September 13th and I'm due the 15th. It's super fun because we get to talk to each other about all the same things, same visits at the dr, same symptoms, same worries and excitements. Anyway we took the "Let's celebrate the last week of the 2nd Trimester Picture".

Also noting that I'm HUGE... or at least bigger than most women at my time. You know how some women get that "Pregnant Glow" and they are just blissfully full of baby... ya well I'm beastly full of baby. Luckily Michael is as sweet as peach pie, he always tells me how beautiful I look. He's such a good husband. Here's a better side view picture.

Vegas Babymoon!

Mike and I went to Vegas for a babymoon, something we read about that says you need to go on a trip before you have your baby to glorify your last moments of selfish aloneness. It was really fun though. As you can see in the picture above, we stayed at the Tropicana, not the classiest joint, but still on the strip. It turns out we went at the perfect time the week before was in the hundreds and the week after too. For the few days we were there it stayed within the 60-75 range, very nice weather. Though it got a little chilly by the pool. Though I did buy a super cute maternity swim suit that I don't quite fit into yet (though at the rate I'm growing I think I'll need a bigger one by the end). Mike had to rig it up in the back so you could see that I was wearing bottoms.
We actually didn't take too many pictures down there, but we did some fun things. We went to the IMAX as you can see in the above and below picture, the glasses are pretty cool, but they wouldn't let us keep them.

Mikey with our tickets to the the IMAX. We tried to go on the IMAX ride, but they wouldn't let us. No pregos allowed. We went to the Cirque de Soleil "O" and the performance was amazing. Very visually stimulating. We also got tickets to Blue Man Group, which is also a very stimulating busy show, nothing like we'd ever seen before.

New and Improved!!

Demolition and Re-model

Here's a great view of most of the inside of our house. We were hoping to keep the brick, but it was not in the budget. (Bye cute brick house, tear).

This is the new view looking out our garage.

This is one of the two existing rooms (they didn't need much work). Michael is taking a break from the hard work! As you can tell he is still quite camera shy(posing for the camera) just as he was when he was little boy in all those home movies. ;)

This is the 2nd bedroom. I'm waving like a dork... why do people do that in pictures?

Our First House! (Prior to Remodel)

This was what our house looked like when we bought it. It was so super cute and we loved it, but it was a little small and the inside needed some.... ok a lot of work.

When we got our house we were so excited that we decided to go directly out and buy the "elite craftsman" lawn mower. This was the first item that we chose to buy for our new house. We bought in early fall. Never touched it and before spring returned it. Now the cute neighbor kids do our lawn for a small fee.

Baby Feet! Baby's First Pictures

This is my favorite picture. The little tootsies are so darn cute!

We went to the ultrasound on April 22nd and we found out that we are having a BOY! I would definitely have to say that the experience lived up to all the hype!
*If you will notice I think he actually has Mikey's cute nose! :)
